Study on the Energy, Development, and Security Nexus |
Renew the Earth is conducting a study for the Rockefeller Brothers Fund to investigate analytic relationships among energy, security and development indicators at the country level based on currently available metrics and data. These relationships will serve as a first step in assessing how analysis across different government agencies and mission areas could support U.S. energy security and development policy. The complexity of threats to global and national security, such as poverty and climate change, need to be based upon accurate and timely information, validated analytical tools, and recurring information exchange among stakeholder agencies. To leverage the resources and talents of the security and development communities toward achieving the shared goal of sustainable energy security, the analytic relationships among energy, security, and development need to be better understood by all stakeholders. |
